Board of Trustees
One of the most exciting and important aspects of a headmaster's set of responsibilities is to work with a school's governing board. In 1998, Peter Relic, then President of the National Association of Independent Schools, commented about trustees of schools, that they are people "who believe in independent education, those willing to give of their time and talents to help our schools be the best they can be. The ability of a school to act independently, even to exist, is based on the foundation of its governance. At the very core, we have determined that effective governance will remain the foundation of the healthy independent school." Hillside is committed to having the most dynamic, talented, and dedicated Board - recruited from our many constituencies; current parents, past parents, alumni, friends and the DAR.
