Admission

Application Process

Admission Application
What is the Admission process?
Hillside uses a rolling admission process. Applications for both boarding and day students are accepted throughout the year. Qualified candidates can join the school at any time provided spaces are available. We do require an on-campus interview (exceptions may be made for international students), a completed application, three teacher recommendations, educational testing, and/or a psychological evaluation and a student writing sample. While there is no application deadline, parents are encouraged to complete the admission process as early as possible. Upon acceptance, an enrollment contract will be mailed to the family.

Tuition and Financial Aid
For families that cannot afford the tuition, Hillside School offers need-based financial aid. Approximately one-third of the Hillside families receive financial assistance from the school. For academic year 2007-2008, $1,000,000 was given out to over 33% of our students. Both new and returning families can qualify for aid. Hillside uses the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) from School and Student Service for Financial Aid in Princeton, NJ to assist in determining financial need. Families can obtain a copy of the PFS from the admission office. Unfortunately, funds are limited and we cannot offer awards to all families who apply. For 2007-2008, tuition rates are $25,650 for day students, $39,950 for five-day boarder students, and $44,400 for seven-day boarder students.
