Hillside Alum Commits to West Point
Dennis Cesana ’13 has recently committed to play D1 hockey at West Point in the fall of 2018, following a year on the Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Dennis’s on-ice abilities, coupled with his academic achievements caught the attention of the highly selective military academy. Dennis, a former Hillside hockey captain and student leader, matriculated to Kimball Union Academy where he played for the highly ranked Wildcats.
Dennis’s former Hillside teammate and classmate, Jack Moran ‘13, has also secured a recent D1 commitment. Jack was recruited by the University of Maine and will join their team in the fall of 2017.
Hillside’s hockey program, as evidenced by the impressive recruitments of these two alums, is considered the best of its kind in the country. Currently, we have 30 former students playing at 21 prep schools throughout the country, including Andover, Avon, Choate, Cushing, Lawrence, Middlesex, St. Mark’s, St. George’s, St. Paul’s, KUA, and Westminster.
Hillside’s hockey program offers its student-athletes a comprehensive and highly competitive program combining daily intensive practice with a 35 game schedule. The majority of our games consist of independent secondary school junior varsity opponents such as St. Sebastian’s, Belmont Hill, Avon, Choate, and more. This schedule allows our boys to experience hockey at the next level along with the opportunity to be showcased and recruited by the schools they aspire to attend. Hillside’s network of connections and relationships gives our players unprecedented access, personal introductions to coaches and administrators, and ultimately plays an invaluable role in placing each boy at the school of his choice. Hillside’s reputation, combined with the trusted endorsement of our experienced admission and placement team, gives our players an important edge in the recruiting process.
