The Bulldogs were excited to end this final league game on a good note and did not disappoint. They came out flying. All over the Rumsey goalie, Hillside never let up and it was Christian Thomas ‘13 using brute force in front of the net to push a rebound in off a hard shot from the point by Dennis Cesana ‘13. Next was Josh Loveridge ‘13 battling behind the net then making a hard pass to Jack Moran ‘13 in front who put it home. Rumsey fought back scoring a power play goal late in the first to make the score 2-1.

Going into the second period it was still all Hillside applying the pressure from all angles. Defenseman Joe Vingi ‘12 was able to snipe a tough goal sneaking in from behind the net to beat the Blue Dog goalie. The Rumsey team began to get chippy and the Bulldogs had to keep their composer and keep plugging away.

Going into the 3rd period the Bulldogs had to dig deep within and show what they were made of to stay away from being sucked into the penalty box. The Blue Dogs played tough, but the Bulldog’s strong defense lead by Calum Heoburn ‘12 in net, kept turning them away. Then, mid way into the 3rd, the Bulldog’s sealed the win when Dennis Cesana ‘13 took a blast from the point. It was first Herbie Hazelton ‘13 whacking away at the rebound and then Cam Tedford ‘13 coming flying in to seal the Blue Dogs fate making the final score of 4-1.

Most impressive of the game was the Hillside Bulldogs impressive team play. They out hustled and out smarted the opponent coming together to clinch the 1st seed in the JBSA tournament next weekend in Berkshire.
