Hillside School and the International Baccalaureate
Hillside School is currently a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). This means we are actively pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy - a commitment to high quality, challenging, student-centered, globally-minded education.
The IB (International Baccalaureate) is an academically challenging program of study. Its purpose is to provide a framework for teaching and learning that encourages critical thinking, interdisciplinary understanding, and real-life application through a holistic educational lens. With its emphasis on intercultural understanding and personal development, the mission of the IB closely aligns with our school's mission and vision for learning. Through the International Baccalaureate, our teachers use the inquiry cycle to develop rich and challenging learning experiences that encourage students to pursue their pathways to individual excellence, both within individual areas of focus as well as across subject areas. For more information, explore the Hillside and the MYP Program Brochure.
