Bill Newman serves as Hillside School's Assistant Head for Enrollment and Placement. He brings more than 20 years of experience in independent school enrollment and financial aid to his work with current and prospective Hillside students. Bill holds an M.A. in Education Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University, a B.A. in English and Art History from Sarah Lawrence College, and a B.F.A. from the Portland School of Art. He is committed to enrolling a diverse student body, designing quality programs for international students, and stewarding families through the admission process with compassion and dedication. Bill, an avid skier, lives on campus in Emerson House.

Sean joined the Admission Office in 2013 as the Senior Associate Director of Admission. He is a graduate of Tufts University where he earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts after attending St. Mark's School. Sean previously served as the Associate Director of Admission and Athletic Liaison at Becker College. Prior to that, Sean worked at The Winchendon School as a teacher, coach and advisor and spent his last three years there as the Associate Director of Admissions.

Director of Secondary School Placement and Associate in Admission
David joined Hillside at the beginning of the 2019-20 school year. He is the Director of Secondary School Placement, and he assists with some admissions work, as well. David earned his B.A. from Bowdoin College after graduating from St. Mark’s School. He has over 17 years of administrative experience at independent schools, including at The Cambridge School of Weston and The Fenn School. David finds it especially rewarding to help students discover schools that are authentic fits on their educational journeys.
Janet Cutler Lincoln
Administrative Assistant for Admission & Placement
Janet joined the Admission Team in the summer of 2019. She is a graduate of Massachusetts Bay Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science. She started her early career in the corporate world and most recently retired after 25 years as executive assistant to the President and CEO and the executive team of the Doctor Franklin Perkins School in Lancaster. She served on the Committee for Boy Scout Troop 1 Lancaster facilitating scout rank advancement—over a dozen young men reached Eagle Scout during her tenure, including her own son. She is a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Lexington, Massachusetts Chapter where she has served as American Flag Committee Chair. Janet enjoys quilting, knitting, reading, and traveling.
