Affording a Hillside Education

A Hillside education is a significant and fulfilling investment. For over a century, Hillside has been committed to providing an exceptional amount of financial aid, which makes up the difference between what a family can afford and the costs of tuition, fees and boarding (if applicable).

Currently, financial aid makes it possible for approximately 30% of our students, from a wide range of backgrounds, to attend Hillside. Financial assistance is need-based and administered by the Office of Admission & Financial Aid to ensure that as many accepted students can feasibly attend Hillside as possible.

Applying For Financial Aid:

Hillside encourages eligible families to apply for financial aid. Awarded aid is reviewed on an annual basis for families that show a demonstrated need. Returning students must also be in good academic and social standing to remain eligible.

As part of this process, families should expect to do the following:

  1. Speak with a member of our Admission Team for a full overview of the process.
  2. Visit sss.nais.org to complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). Note that you can fill out one PFS for all schools to which your son is applying. Our code is 3908.
  3. For help with the online application, consult the PFS instructions offered on sss.nais.org or contact their toll-free helpline at (800) 344-8328.
  4. The SSS (School & Student Services) process should be completed no later than February 1st. Additionally, applicants for financial aid should plan to file their taxes as early as possible.
