To align with the middle school schedule, the school day begins at 8:30 a.m. Students may be dropped off as early as 8:15 a.m. Dismissal is at 3:00 p.m. for students who are not enrolled in after-school programming. Our after-school programming, which is included in tuition, runs until 5:00 p.m.

For Fall 2026, tuition is $19,950 for Kindergarten and $22,950 for Grade 1. To be considered for Financial Aid, candidates must complete the Applicant Checklist as well as submit all financial aid requirements through the School & Student Services (SSS) by February 1. Our school will work closely with families to determine if their child is ready to enroll in our kindergarten program. While the standard eligibility date is turning five by August 31, we recognize that each child develops at their own pace and will consider individual readiness as part of the enrollment decision.

Technology at the Lower School is used thoughtfully and in a developmentally appropriate way. For grades K–3, a shared Chromebook cart will be integrated into the classroom as needed to support learning. Devices are used strictly for educational purposes, such as virtual field trips, access to digital libraries, and research—not for entertainment. Students may not bring personal devices, such as tablets, smart watches, or cell phones to school. 

Yes. All food—lunch and snack—is included in tuition. 

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a globally recognized educational approach that focuses on developing curious, compassionate, and lifelong learners. IB programs emphasize critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and student-centered learning. Rather than focusing solely on memorization, IB encourages students to make connections across subjects and apply their learning to real-world situations. In 2025, Hillside became an authorized IB World School offering the Middle Years Programme (MYP), which serves students aged 11-16. We will use the IB as a framework for lower school students as we pursue authorization for the Primary Years Programme (PYP), which serves students aged 3-12.
